Shopping
One of the great attractions of the island is the duty-free shopping available on both sides of the island. You will find elegant boutiques with all the brand names at prices much lower than back home, elegant jewelry, tablecloths, crystal, Dutch Delft Blue, liquors, top-of-the-line electronics and in addition, wonderful island souvenirs. Most of the shops in Marigot are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM and re-open from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM. Sundays almost all shops are closed.

St. Maarten - St. Martin has become a major yachting and marine center of the Caribbean. Many marinas, yacht charter companies, chandleries, shipyards, sail makers and more have well equipped businesses open year round.
Thanks to the free-port and duty-free status, food provisioning is less expensive here than on many other Caribbean Islands.
The Heineken Regatta: the most famous of many regattas organized on the Island throughout the year and recognized as one of the major Caribbean events.
Weekly fees for cruising boats, passenger ships and yachts per week or a portion of a week amount to:
- 9 up to 14 meters in length : NAF 18/ USD 10
- per boat 14 up to 20 meters in length : NAF 27/ USD 15
- per boat 20 up to 28 meters in length : NAF 45/ USD 25
- per boat 28 up to 36 meters in length : NAF 81/ UDS 45
- per boat Over 36 meters in length : NAF 153/ USD 85
Per boat Bridge fee: The Bridge fee amounts to: NAF 180,-/ USD 100 per boat for boats of minimum 28 meters (90ft.) in length entering in the Simpson Bay Lagoon.
